Liquid Fire, Ice in Her Eyes

Be warned. I may change the title. More than once.

An assignment for my mixed media class. The assignment was to create a Chuck Close style portrait...but I got a little carried away with patterns and metallics, so it's more Klimt-y now

I chose a photo from a Vogue magazine that was very...gold. In the past day or so, it's really deviated from the photo and gotten pretty conceptual. I see her as some type of Tundra-dwelling shaman or ice queen. I don't know why, perhaps it's the eyes. I am totally open and happy to receive interpretations.

A lot of this piece is done in metallic paint and ink, so doesn't translate to photo terribly well, but whatever. I like it.
